Summary of the address of Parampujya Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohanji Bhagwat on the occasion of Sri Vijayadashami – on Thursday 18th October 2018.

Introduction : We have assembled here to celebrate the auspicious occasion of this year’s Vijayadashami. This year is the 550th Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji. When our entire society, by forgetting the truth inherited from the ancient tradition and the natural self of Bharat, got itself neck deep in a cesspool of hypocrisy, falsehood, selfishness and divide; became weak, defeated and disintegrated; and was getting fragmented by repeated thrashing of the brutal atrocities perpetrated by the cruel, intolerant, savage foreign invaders from across the border, Shri Guru Nanak Deo ji showed a new path of self-enlightenment based on the spiritual practice commensurate with the times through his life, gave the society a new life of oneness by ameliorating the strayed tradition. It is his legacy that gave the country a magnificent and majestic tradition of 10 gurus who removed our state of penury and inferiority.

Mahatma Gandhi, whose 150th birth anniversary is being celebrated, provided the political foundation of truth and non violence to the independence movement of the country. This unique struggle for freedom was an outcome of the continuous enlightenment provided by the very same inclusive culture, based on love and truth, as propounded by several great personalities of this country from time to time. All such efforts inspired the common man of the country to come out of his home and stand firmly with a moral force against the British oppression. The remembrance of martyrdom, sacrifice and dedication of hundreds of our unarmed countrymen, who were encircled from all sides and became victims of General Dyer’s bullets, hundred years ago while opposing the repressive and unjust Rowlett act and demanding freedom in the Jaliawala Bagh at Amritsar, invokes the same moral force in us.
It is imperative to mention these relevant reminiscences this year because although our country has achieved a significant level of progress in many sectors during the 71 years of Independence, we have yet to move forward in many other dimensions of progress in our all encompassing national life. Several forces whose selfish designs are being defeated or hindered because of our progress as a well organized, strong and prosperous country have not retracted from plotting skull duggeries to block the path of our nation. We have yet to cross many a hurdles. We can achieve this feat by treading the path of those great ancestors who have established such hoary ideals and propagated them in the society by their exemplary life based on truthfulness, piousness, penance, affection and sacrifice. The same message is evident when we see the present play of hope and despair in the country when we take a glance at the national scenario.

National Security :
Border Security and internal security of the country are the issues of foremost consideration as they ensure space and opportunity to the nation for making efforts towards prosperity and development. Fruitful efforts have been undertaken to entwine the web of international relations by appraising the nations with our security concerns and getting their backing and cooperation. The military, government and administration has displayed its clear intent to maintain peaceful and cordial relations with all the countries including the neighbouring ones in words and deeds, at the same time standing and acting firm and making prudent use of our capabilities while initiating bold actions wherever necessary in the context of national security. In this regard efforts are being initiated and accelerated to enhance the morale of our armed and security forces, making them well-equipped and to provide them with latest technologies. This is one of the reasons that the prestige of Bharat is rising in the world.
Along with this, it is essential to be more attentive in enhancing the basic amenities of armed and security forces and their families. There have been some laudable efforts in this regard by the government. A thought must be given as to how its implementation can be expedited? From administrative point of view, it is imperative that the planning and implementation of these schemes have to pass through the military officers and civilian administrative authorities and Departments like Home, Defense and Finance. All these actors need to be more sensitive and respectful to the endeavours of these forces and their readiness to make a supreme sacrifice even by putting their lives at stake is a natural expectation that comes up in many discussions. Every countryman needs to keep this in mind that such an expectation is sought from the society as well, as it is from the government and administration. It is utmost essential that our brethren fighting for the security of the society across the border and within the country wherever required do their tasks without any worries for the social security and wellbeing of their families. After the change of guard in the country across our Western borders, any decline in its overt and covert provocative activities especially in the states like Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, neither has happened nor was expected.
In view of the dynamic international developments, safeguarding of our maritime borders has also assumed greater significance. There are hundreds of islands at various distances in the coastal area of Bharat adjacent to the mainland. All these islands including Andaman Nicobar are situated at strategically important locations. From the security point of view, their maintenance and strengthening of the facilities there has to be attended and implemented as a matter of urgency. Expeditious attention needs to be given to have coordination, cooperation and resources among Navy and other forces guarding the maritime borders and islands. Our brethren habituating along the land and sea borders are firmly holding the ground with determination despite facing several challenges peculiar to the border areas. If their wellbeing is taken care of, these locals in the bordering areas can also be of great assistance in tackling problems like infiltration, smuggling etc. Both the government and society need to take more efforts so that relief, education, healthcare facilities and employment opportunities reach them in time and they are imbued with patriotism, valour and virtues.
The country cannot be assured about its security without the total self reliance in the field of defense production even while continuing with the multilateral exchanges wherever necessary. The pace of national efforts in this direction has to be accelerated.

Internal Security :
The issue of internal security is equally important along with the border security of the country. The Union, as well as the State governments and administrations should sternly deal with the violent activities of elements, motivated or moved from inside as well as outside the borders, who challenge the law, Constitution and sovereignty of the country, is one of its remedial aspects. The Union and State governments and police and paramilitary forces are successfully undertaking operations in this regard. They will have to continue it with incessant vigil. But, it is a matter of fact that such elements who take part in violent and evidently illegal activities come from our own society. At the root of this is ignorance, dearth of development and amenities, unemployment, injustice, exploitation, discrimination and absence of sensitivity and sanity of our society essential in an independent nation. The Government and administration do have a role to play in alleviating this. But a greater responsibility lies with the society. An atmosphere of warmth and goodwill needs to be propagated by eliminating all such discrepancies within the society and embracing these brethren of our society with dignity and affection. The societal manifestation of this will have to start with the refinement of one’s own conscience and conduct. An intimate and regular contact will have to be maintained with all sections of the society by becoming part of their thick and thin.
It is felt that Central and State governments have to be more transparent and should exhibit greater efficiency and sensitivity in effective and timely implementation of several plans, sub plans and various provisions made for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled tribes. Police forces are the first to take the call with respect to internal security. The National Police Commission has also made recommendations for reforms in their systems. It is necessary to ponder over these recommendations pending for several years and make efforts towards such reforms.

Disturbing Trends :
The establishment running the country and the society at large need to show alacrity in assuring progress, empathetic response, transparent and respectful behavior in the efforts for upliftment of the weaker sections of the society. The lack of all this makes it easy to sow and grow the seeds of doubt, detachment, imprudence, rebellion, hatred and violence in these sections that are severely affected due to the deprivation, injustice and negligence. Taking advantage of this, the forces with selfish motives desirous of using them as cannon fodder in the anti-national and criminal activities play deceitful games among them. This trend can be understood by everyone from the continuous efforts during the last 4 years to give a specific tone to the agitations originated in some undesirable incident in the society, old and new issues bothering different sections of the society and long-standing or emerging demands. The selfish power hungry politics with sheer disrespect for the social harmony, legal and Constitutional discipline and with an eye on votes in the upcoming elections have been apparently clear behind these machinations. But this time an atmosphere of divergence, separatism, violence, acerbic hatred and going to the extent of fueling anti-national sentiments is being created by exploiting these grievances. The leading faces of the groups from whom the slogans like ‘भारत तेरे टुकड़े होंगे’ were emanated, have been at the forefront with their provocative speeches in such incidents at some places. When the violent activities in remote forest areas were dealt with firmly, those leading and abetting violence were seen at the forefront of these agitations as votaries of Urban Naxalism. To start with, an ideological follower group is created through a network of small groups and regular contact in the student hostels. Then, by infusing rabid violent acts in small and big agitations, giving anarchical experience, the fear of law and administration and the civic discipline is being systematically eroded among those followers. On the other side, scorn and hatred is generated within the society and against the prevalent establishment and leadership. Through such incidents getting instantaneously violent, thought leadership in all sections of the society – which by and large stays within the social order and civic discipline – is sought to be suddenly discredited. To establish a new, unfamiliar, uncontrolled, outrightly biased Naxal leadership with blind followers solely committed to them is the ‘Neo – Left’ doctrine of these urban Naxals. Their cohorts already established in social and other media, intellectual circles and other institutions are associated with such activities from start to finish. They execute this by defending such activities through intellectual and other methods, through delusory public campaigns related to agitations, while keeping a safe distance and maintaining their so-called eminent positions. They are experts in freely using deceit and poisonous provocative language to make their vicious campaign even more potent. Treasonous activity by taking help from enemies of the nation is considered as an additional skill. It can be unmistakably seen if we investigate the source of the content and narration in their social media campaigns. The actual presence of Jihadi and terrorist elements in one way or other in such incidents is a common factor among all these. So the emerging conclusion is, this is a bigger canny conspiracy in collusion with forces from within and outside the country. It no more remains just a power politics by the opposition, but in this process, politically ambitious individuals and groups – either knowingly or unknowingly – and weaker sections, crushed under deprivation and neglect get drawn as ammunition unknowingly or unwillingly. Through the manufacturing of vicious and hostile atmosphere that weakens and destroys the social cohesion – essentially the bedrock of internal security of a nation – a world of psychological warfare is being carved out. This is called as ‘Mantrayuddh’ in our traditional Rajneeti Shastras.
To eliminate such tendencies, the Government and administration have to alertly ensure that such incidents, of which trouble mongers can take advantage of do not take place. At the same time, they will have to keep a constant vigil on such incendiary elements and forces so that they are not able to perpetrate such nuisance. Slowly, in the absence of any support from society, these incendiary elements will be completely defused. The administration has to make its intelligence gathering mechanism more comprehensive and alert. The schemes for the public good will have to reach the last man of the society through their prompt implementation. It will have to work with skill and diligence to ascertain law and order.
But an accurate and complete mitigation of these circumstances is possible only when all sections of the society interact with the disposition of kinship and goodwill in thought and heart. We need to see the diversity of sects and religions, castes and sub-castes, languages and provinces as expressions of unity. The entire society should own problems and conditions specific to any section of society to find a just and amicable solution through a cordial dialogue. An atmosphere where there can be uninterrupted friendly dialogue should be nurtured through greater contact and camaraderie. Citizens should follow the ambit of law and order and public discipline in their daily life. In this connection, every citizen and politician may remember the famous speech by Hon. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar delivered on 25th November 1949 wherein he advocates that without all pervasive fraternity in the society, it is not conceivable for the country to move in the direction of justice, freedom and equality and to attain social democracy along with political and economic democracy. The safety of these democratic values and our independence can be endangered without these. The means we adopted to raise our concerns when we were British subjects may be done away after attaining independence. We need to adopt only Constitutional methods, within the ambit of the democratic discipline.
Bhagini Nivedita has also considered civic consciousness as the manifestation of patriotism in the daily life of a citizen.

Necessity of Sanskar in the family :
A firm and absolute consensus on these issues among the polity, judiciary, executive, local administration, organizations, dignitaries and common public and a feeling of intimate oneness in the society can be the only guarantee of stability, development and security of the country. These virtues should be instilled in the new generation of society from childhood itself at home, in schools and through social activities. Today, it has become pertinent that the younger generation gets the foundational virtues of humanity and good character in family life. Nowadays, the education curricula and the general atmosphere of the society almost lack these values. Time is running out in the wait for the implementation of the new education policy. Even though there are many individuals and organizations making efforts for these changes both at societal and government levels, our home and family are always in our hands for making such efforts. It is necessary to see whether we are fulfilling our responsibility towards the new generation to shape their minds with virtues of natural affection, self discretion, family and social responsibility and by setting our own example of prudence in an informal and pious environment or not. A need is being felt world over to be extra attentive due to the changing times. With the increasing reach and influence of media, gadgets with newer technologies that make individuals self-centred and expose them to right and wrong information and knowledge of the world without taking into cognizance their discretionary abilities, it is all the more necessary to acquire the values of family traditions. A discretionary capacity needs to be generated in the young generation with affection and our own example, for accepting the worth emanating from the new world with an open mind; and to guard themselves and others against the evil on the basis of our value system.
The news reports about incidents of suffering in families, indebtedness, immoral behavior and rape from the near and dear ones, suicides, caste conflicts and discrimination in the country are definitely a matter of concern and pain. Ultimately, the solutions to these problems lie in creating an affectionate and family atmosphere and social harmony. In this perspective, the entire society, including luminaries and leading intellectuals, need to take up the duty in this direction.

Integrated thinking :
All those who are leading the society in various fields should keep in mind that every action, speech and thought of ours should nourish all including the individual, family, society, humanity and the environment. Nowhere in the world, healthy and peaceful social life has ever thrived and can thrive, merely based on the laws and fear of punishment. Society abiding by laws is not the reason but the result of its ethical standards derived from the comprehension of the traditional social values. To adopt the customs and conventions with changing times, one may change the ethical practices and rules but by remaining firm on the edifice of values. The real and complete Justice is done by interweaving of the four elements in consonance, namely, the natural instincts of desire and wealth that form the societal functioning; ethics that restraints such instincts, making them useful and giving through them satisfaction and happiness with pleasure; the legal system that ensures that society and families follow this discipline enshrined in these ethics; and the comprehension of values being the decisive factor in all these. The decisions taken without considering all aspects and patiently creating the mindset of the society, will neither be adopted in actual practice nor will they help in creating a new social order in tune with changing times and positions. The situation arising out of the recent verdict on Sabarimala temple shows the similar predicament. The nature and premise of the tradition that has been accepted by society and continuously followed for years together were not taken into consideration. The version of heads of religious denominations and faith of crores of devotees was not taken into account. The plea by a large section of women, who follows this tradition, was not heard to. The legal verdict has given rise to unrest, turmoil and divisiveness in the society in place of peace, stability and equality. The questions such as why only the Hindu society experiences such repeated and brazen onslaughts on its symbols of faith, obviously rise in the public mind and lead to unrest. This situation is not at all conducive for the peace and healthiness of the society.

‘Swa’ based systems for an independent nation :
Bharat’s progress will have to be achieved by rejuvenating all precincts of national life, being rooted in its eternal ethos. Whatever is available within the country will have to be rectified, reformed or if necessary, completely discarded as per times and situation; and accepting whatever is noble and useful around the world and adapt them as per the requirements of the country; Both these decisions would be based on the same ethos. This is the characteristic trait of our nation. This is ‘Hindutva’. Any country can progress by being resolute and steadfast on its original character, and not by blind copying.
The administrative sensitivity, alacrity, transparency and totality in the implementation of good policies of the Government are still not up to the expectations. Resultantly, the outcome of those policies is not percolating down to the last man standing in the society. The foreign British rule and administration were merely overlords of the land and territories. In the Independent Bharat, our rulers are expected to make the administration people-centric.
Political freedom is not complete in itself. All the dimensions of national life have to be reorganized on the basis of ‘swa’ (self) and self-esteem that inspired us and breathed our life with the sense of ‘we the people’ during the freedom struggle. Aspirations of people of Independent Bharat have been articulated in the four different parts of our Constitution, namely, the preamble, fundamental rights, the directive principles, and fundamental duties. We will have to establish our own model of development in the light of these provisions. Our goals, directions and accordingly all aspects of national life, including the economic one, have to be steered with this spirit. Then all our efforts and policies will be seen as fully implemented and fruitful.
Even after adopting the noble principles from the world, it is absolutely essential for the progress of the nation that we devise our own distinct model of development and corresponding framework based on our philosophical foundation.

Shri Rama Janmabhoomi :
In this very same context of honouring the ‘Swa’ of the nation, Sangh has been associated with the sentiments of crores of countrymen, in the efforts of constructing a magnificent Ram temple at the birthplace of Shree Ram who is the personification of the life energy of the nation and an icon of upholding Dharma. The place of Janmabhoomi is yet to be allocated for the construction of the temple although all kinds of evidence have affirmed that there was a temple at that place. There is an obvious game-plan of a few elements to stall the judgment by presenting various newer interventions in the judicial process. It is in nobody’s interest to test the patience of the society without any reason. The construction of the temple is necessary from the self-esteem point of view; it will also pave the way for an atmosphere of goodwill and oneness in the country. This matter of national interest is being obstructed by some fundamentalist elements and forces that play communal politics for selfish gains. Despite such machinations, the decision regarding ownership of the land should be expedited, and the Government should clear the path for construction of the grand temple through appropriate and requisite law.

Elections :
Who would lead the nation? Are prevalent policies right or wrong? All these things have to be decided by the ordinary voters every five years, as a part of his ordained duty, in the democratic system of our country. Such five-yearly elections are approaching ahead. In a way, through this right, we the people of Bharat, common citizens become the adjudicators and controllers of our national scenario. But, we also know that the decision we make on that single day of the election makes us bear the brunt of good and bad effects in the short term as well as the long-lasting gains and losses for
many years, sometimes throughout the lifetime. We are left with nothing else in our hands after that single day. If we have to get the verdict which will not lead to repentance then the voters will have to rise above self, parochial feelings, petty egos of caste, language and provincial affiliations, keeping in mind that the national interest is supreme. The voters will have to ponder over dispassionately upon the sincerity and capability of the candidate, commitment of the party on the issues of national interest and for the integrity of the nation and experiences of past and present actions of both candidates and parties.
The characteristic of democratic politics is such that no one can be considered as completely right or wrong. In such a situation, non-voting or using the provision of None of the Above (NOTA) goes in favour of the one who is most ineffective. So, 100 per cent voting is essential keeping in mind national interest as supreme without getting swayed by the campaigns of all the sides. The Election Commission of Bharat also appeals for the hundred per cent voting and conscience voting. The RSS swayamsevaks have always been abided by this as a duty as citizens and will do so this time as well.
Since its inception, RSS has kept itself aloof from the party politics and the politics influenced by castes and creeds and will continue to do so. But the number of Swayamsevaks spread all over the country, should fulfill their duty as citizens and stand in favour of putting their strength behind the overall national good. This is an essential task in the national interest.

Appeal
The existence of a powerful, virtuous and organised society based on the distinct axiom of ‘Swa’ of the nation is the fundamental and essential prerequisite of national well-being. That identity is Hindu identity that teaches us to respect all, accept all, unite all and do good to all. That is why Sangh wishes to establish a strong, invincible organised Hindu society and will comprehensively achieve this goal. Those sections of the society who consider themselves ‘separate’ because of their religion, tradition and lifestyle or apprehensive of the word ‘Hindu’ need to understand that Hindutva is the eternal ethos of this country. While keeping its core eternal values unchanged, there had been changes in its content and conduct commensurate with times and situations and will happen so in the future as per the needs. Hindutva has intrinsic identification with the undivided land of Bharat from the Himalayas up to the seas. All the Bharatiyas should immerse themselves in the hue of Bharat’s culture ingrained in its ethos is a sincere wish of the Sangh. The practices of all the sects and traditions of Bharat derive themselves from this cultural ethos. The luminaries, who have toiled hard and devoted their lives to protect and nourish the society, are our ancestors and the symbols of prestige to all of us. Hindutva is behind Bharat’s capacity to embrace the entire universe with acceptance and appreciation of all its distinct diversities. That is why Bharat is the Hindu Rashtra. An organised Hindu society is the bedrock of unity, integrity and sustainable progress of the nation. The acceptance of eternal Hindutva ethos is the panacea for fundamentalism, petty selfishness, unrestrained consumerism arising out of hardcore materialism and insensitivity. Therefore, organizing Hindus is a mission leading to universal good, Bharat’s welfare, and wellbeing of humanity.
It is an appeal to all of you to be part of this sacred divine task, in cooperation with the Sangh Swayamsevaks, to carry forward Bharat’s chariot of destiny in order to put Bharatmata at the pedestal of Vishwaguru.

SC should expedite the matter of Ram Mandir learning the sentiments of crores of Hindus

Sri Narendra Thakur, Sarkaryavah Sri Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi, Sri Arun Kumar addressing media

Mumbai, November 2, 2018

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s three-day Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal meet concluded today at the Keshav Srushti area near Mumbai.

Sarkaryawah Suresh ‘Bhaiyaji’ Joshi addressed a press conference after the meeting and answered questions related to various issues.

RAM MANDIR AT AYODHYA

Sarkaryawah Suresh ‘Bhaiyaji’ Joshi said that the issue of Ram temple in Ayodhya is connected with the sentiments of crores of Hindus. The Supreme Court should realize this and expedite the proceedings of the matter.

The Hindu society has been running a movement since last 30 years on the issue of Ram temple. The society expects that a grand Ram temple should be built and all hurdles associated with it should be removed. However, the wait has been inordinately delayed. The High Court had given its ruling in this matter in 2010. The matter is pending in the Supreme Court since 2011. The three-member Supreme Court bench, which was hearing the case, has delayed the hearing for a long period. When the court was asked when the hearing would take place, they said that they have other priorities. It is their right to decide when to hear a case, but the court’s reply has left the Hindu society feeling humiliated and pained. The Supreme Court should rethink on this matter. The society should respect the court and the court should also respect the society and its sentiments.

It is for the government to decide when it wants to enact a law or promulgate an ordinance on the issue of Ram temple. The Narsimha Rao government had filed an affidavit saying that the government will help in constructing the Ram temple if evidences after excavation suggested that a temple existed at the location. Now, when it has been established in the court, on the basis of evidence provided by the archeological department, that a temple existed there, no one should have an objection to the construction of a temple there.

We are not putting any pressure on the government in connection with the Ram temple. On the contrary, we are talking about finding a solution based on consensus. The honourable saints should be consulted and a solution should be found. Any government runs on a balance between consensus and law. The government did not construct the temple in spite of having majority – this shows its faith in the court. The court too should understand the sensitivities of the issue and think on it.

SABARIMALA ISSUE

Had the Sabarimala temple issue been limited to the entry of women, we would have supported it. There is no discrimination between men and women in Hindu society. In the Hindu system, no puja is completed without the participation of both husband and wife. However, some temples have their own rules. A society is run on the basis of not only rights but also traditions and beliefs. Women should get entry in all temples. However, it would not be appropriate to take any decision regarding specific traditions related to temples without consulting the temple’s management. The court should try to arrive at a consensus while giving its ruling in such matters.

SANGH’S INTERNAL REVIEW

A review was conducted of the Sangh work at this meeting. We are growing since last six years. The work has grown by one and half times in past six years. Today, Sanghshakhas are functional in 35,500 villages. In comparison to last year, there is an increase of shakhas in 1400 villages. Sanghshakhas have risen to 55,825. There is an increase of 2200 shakhas since last one year.

The weekly gatherings of Sangh are going on regularly in 17,000 villages. In 9,000 places monthly gatherings are going on. The actual Sangh work is going on in 61,000 places. The number of Sanghswayamsevaks has gone up by one lakh since last one year. Sangh has formed taluka, blocks and mandals depending upon the geographical conditions to expand the work. There are 56,600 such mandals. We have reached up to 32,000 of them.

Sangh has been running 1.70 lakh social projects across the country. They are in rural, urban and tribal areas. Sangh has been running 25 big hospitals, 12 blood banks, and 50,000 single teacher schools in the tribal areas. The first aid services are being run in several villages through 10,000 ArogyaRakshaks to provide immediate medical help in general illness. Similarly, we are running 20,000 women self-help groups. Apart from that, hostels and coaching classes are also being run. Last year, 30,000 Sanghswayamsevaks planted 13 lakh saplings at 2,000 places. More and continuous work will be carried out in this field in near future. The Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal has taken the issue of environment protection and water conservation seriously. An extensive work will be carried out in this field in coming days.

Mumbai, October 31,2018: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has decided to focus on environment protection and water conservation in near future. Also, it has mulled an idea to train its swayamsevaks in handling the natural calamities.
The Sangh’s Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal meeting began at Keshav Srushti at Uttan near Mumbai today. Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat and Sarkaryawah Suresh ‘Bhaiyaji ‘Joshi garlanded the images of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Bharat Mata at the beginning of the meeting.
RSS Sah Sarkaryawah Manmohan Vaidya briefed the reporters at a nearby complex Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini after the meeting started. He informed that the Sangh organises two meeting every year, one in March and another before Diwali. The office bearers at Prant, kshetra as well as National level participate in the meeting. The meeting has been organised in Mumbai as a part of the regular exercise. It is attended by 350 delegates from across the country and it will go on till November 2.
Vaidya said that a range of contemporary issues of national importance will be discussed at the meeting. Also, there will be discussion on the Sangh’s work done in last year and the work to be done in coming year as well as some new projects to be undertaken by the Sangh.
Vaidya said that the Sangh has undertaken several initiatives since 2010 to expand its horizon. Today, there are around 55,000 shakhas from Ladakh to Andaman and Tripura. Sangh work is spread across 850 districts and 6,000 talukas . Sangh shakhas are running regularly at 90 percent blocks. In Sangh structure, 10 to 12 villages fall under one mandal. There are such 56,000 mandals in which we have grouped all these villages . Sangh has its presence in 58 percent of these mandals so far.
In last three years, there is 5 percent increase in our work in number of mandals and 3 percent in the shakhas. In all, around 31,000 villages have shakhas. Out of total shakhas 82 percent are in rural areas whereas 18 percent are in urban areas.
Vaidya said that Sangh has mulled an idea to train swayamsevaks to tackle natural calamities. The syamsevaks dedicatedly work in the natural calamities but they are not trained for it. In this meeting, there will discussion on how to train them to tackle the calamities.
At present, Sangh is running 1.5 lakh social projects. “We are conducting survey of the swayamsevaks across the country to know their inclination towards social work. We will also discuss how to connect them to several projects as per their inclination.”
He said that Sangh has started an activity for protection of Indian cows, cow oriented farming and health care on the basis of cow products.Brazil and New Zealand have already recognised its values. “We have started an extensive work in this regard after 2010. 1500 new Gow Shallas have been set up by now. There are experiments going on cow urine and dung at the various cow research institutes.”
There will be special discussion on water conservation and environment protection initiatives to be taken by Swayamsevaks along with Society at large. Vaidya informed that rural development activities are going on since 1998. Their effect is visible in 600 villages. We have launched a similar kind of work in other 2000 villages based on the results of these 600 villages.
Sangh has undertaken an important work in the form of an activity called as Kutumb Prabodhan. The families are being scattered now-a-days. The Sangh is concerned on how to keep the families together.
While addressing a question on Ram temple ,Vaidya said that this is neither an issue of Hindu-Muslim nor Temple – Mosque . When Babar’s General had intruded there was not a situation that he could not get land for offering namaz. There was ample of land. He could have constructed mosque there. He had demolished the temple. Excavations by the Archeological Department have already proved that there was a temple at that particular site. According to Islamic intellectuals even Prayer(Namaj) at forcefully occupied other’s land is not accepted and even Supreme Court in its judgement has accepted that Mosque is not necessary for offering namaz.
Ram temple is an issue of national self respect and honour. Just as reconstruction of Somnath temple done by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Then President Dr. Rajenra Prasad had attended the pran pratishtha ceremony at Somnath temple, Similarly, the government should acquire the land and hand it over for construction of Ram temple. The
government should enact a law for this.
Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Arun Kumar and Sah Prachar Pramukh Narendra Thakur too were present at the briefing.

Sri Ananthkumar, Central minister passed away today. He was suffering from cancer

Sri Ananth Kumar a tall leader in state and central politics, an MP from Bengaluru South constituency and a Central minister has passed away today. From an RSS Swayamsevak since childhood to ABVP leader during college days actively leading movements against Emergency, Ananthkumar had grown as a tall leader respected by all in the society. As six time BJP MP from Bengaluru South and two time minister his service has been commendable. He performed a wonderful job as Minister for chemicals and fertlizers by introducing neem coated fertilizers, thereby putting an end to shortage of fertilizers in the country and the same had earned him accolades across political spectrum.

Strengthening of organizations like ABVP and BJP in the state of Karnataka was possible by him with his vision and dedication.

It is indeed a big vaccum in politics as well as to the philanthropic services he rendered. We at RSS feel saddened at his demise and pray for the Sadgathi of his aatma, and also pray Bhagawanta to provide strength to the bereaved family to bear this huge loss

‘Janagraha not against courts but against delay meted out’: Public referendum (Janagraha Sabha) in Bengaluru organised

2nd Dec 2018, Bengaluru:

Thousands of Ram Bhakts assembled at National college, Basavanagudi, Bengaluru today in a Janagraha Sabha a public referendum towards construction of the magnificent Ram Mandir at Ramajanmabhumi Ayodhya, organised by Vishwa Hindu Parishat, Karnataka. Sants from various mutts were present on the august dais prayed and urged for a magnificent Ram temple at Ayodhya. The speakers in the janagraha unequivocally condemned the courts not closing the case and said the respect to courts would still continue but the delay meted out is unacceptable.

Sants at the National College, basavanagudi, demanding for an ordinance towards construction of magnificent Ram mandir, at Ramajanmabhumi

Sri Milind Parande, Secretary General , Vishwa Hindu Parishat introduced to the audience on the need for such public referendum. It is since the time of Babar the foreign barbaric attacker and such mindsets which have resulted in the issue of Ram mandir today he said. He expressed his agony terming it as shocking and appalling when the court hearing the Ramajanmabhumi case recently picked the hearing for mere 3 minutes and adjourned and went on record that court had higher priorities than this. Where thousands of people have laid their lives for the Ram Mandir and case being oldest, the court doing so is a humiliation to whole of the Hindu society he added. Without understanding Babar’s assault in this country and a masjid in his name will cease to exist in this country and a grand Mandir  will be built very soon he said.

Sri Milind Parande, VHP’s Secretary General

Ram Rajya has been coined and the same explains justice and harmony to all. Rama japa is a therapy to Hindus. Though we had such conducive environment all around, and Ram Bhakts are in plenty, Sri Rama Temple construction has been delayed due to wrong intentions. Magnificent Ram Mandir construction is the need of the hour and ordinance is the only way to make it happen and we urge for such an ordinance said Smt Vijayalaxmi Deshamane in her address.

Sri Soumyanandanatha swamji of Adichunchanagiri Mutt also expressed pain wherein enough efforts towards Ram Mandir to worship Bhagavan Rama who has been not just idol but an ideal to all Bharatiyas has been put and we should not end up only with efforts alone but organize ourselves and execute it as soon as possible.

Sri Basavaraj who holds the responsibility of VHP in Karnataka Dakshina elucidated the resolution taken up by the sants in Delhi’s convention held in November.

  1. Meet the Governor and submit appeal on the demand for ordinance in each state of Bharat
  2. All loka sabha constituency should have janagraha sabhas seeking public referendum on construction of Ram Mandir
  3. Starting on Dec 18 which happens to be Gita Jayanti Sri Rama Japa should be done personally and socially praying for the construction of Ram Mandir soon by everyone.

were the three resolutions he said and urged all the Ram Bhakts who were in the gathering to perform Rama Japa for a week from Dec 18 to Dec 25 with an intention of wishing the Rama mandira construction dream to come true.

Sri Mukund CR, Sahsrkaryavah RSS

Sri Mukunda CR, Sahsarkaryavah of the RSS said the children of our country have been hearing the stories of Prabhu Sri Rama and a sad situation that urging for temple to worship him has come in the way. Since 1949, the priority of Rama Mandir has never been with the  courts he said. The court has taken up and closed cases which were of least social, cultural importance. He said how the courts opened in the midnight to hear the mercy plea of Yakub Memon a terrorist. It is only Hindu society which has always been abiding by law of the land and constitution, but the same court has humiliated all of us by not considering Ram mandir plea as priority. The court gives time to belittle the Hindu traditional practice of Sabarimala and gives verdict which again hurts Hindus. This is the sole reason for such public referendums he said.

To all those who believe that the upcoming elections is the reason for such janagrahas, they are wrong said. We are not getting in to politics to build the temple but it is an age old request which has been there and we have come to a junction where we have to pressurize the governments for an ordinance to make it happen. Elections come and go and that does not have to do anything with Ram mandir Sri Mukunda said.

The right word for ordinance in Kannada has been Sugrivajne and it is analogous to Sugriva from Ramayana who ordered his troupe to help Rama succeed in his quest for rescuing Sita and it is sugrivajne which we demand from the elected representatives for the Ram mandir

Pujya Sri Mahamandaleshwara Sri Akhileshwaranandagiri Maharaj who was at his oratory best engaged the Bhakts with slogans. He said though unacceptable, the partition and division of the country has happened and we have accepted it, but we shall not be accepting the decision of the division of Ramajanmabhumi at any cost where in  the archeological evidence is totally on our favour. He said the whole land should belong to Hindus and Babar a foreigner and his masjid cannot be there. He also said how the appeasement has hurt this country and the policies of appeasement have been against Hindus. He opined arranging such Janagraha sabhas is not against the Supreme Court but against the delay meted out and disinterest been displayed. He said how for over 400 years fights have happened for the sake of building a Mandir at the place where Bhagawan Sri Rama was born, lived and ruled and many have guided us over the Rama Mandir and it is now our younger generation who have to make it happen so that it comes as a gift to our future generation.

Sabarimala not a case of fundamental right but following temple traditions

09 Dec 2018, Bengaluru: A. talk by Shri Nanadakumar ji convenor of Prajna Pravah and Akhila Bharatiya Karyakari mandal, RSS was organised at Rastrothanna Fitness centre in Bengaluru today by Sabarimala Ayyappa Samrakshana Samiti. The event was chaired by Shri. Nirmal Kumar Surana, Social activist and Managing Director of Hosa Digantha. The event started with a invocation song in Malayam sung by Smt. Sridevi.
Shri Rajesh Padmar welcomed the guests and introduced them to the audience. He upraised the audience about the background of the talk, about Sabarimala Ayyappa Samrakshana Samiti which is organizing such talks and events to educate the common people.
Nanadakumar ji spoke on the entire Sabramaila issue, it’s origin, forces acting against Sabarimala, machinations of the Communist Kerala govt to hamper the Sabarimala traditions, and the way forward. Below is an exceprt of his impassioned speech.

Sri Nandakumar addressing In the talk. Sri Nirmal kumar Surana also seen

“Sabarimala is not a case of fundamental right but that of following rules and regulations of a traditional temple. Those who judged against Sabarimala traditions were those who deem Western Morality as an ideal and should be adopted here without any considerations for local traditions. People who foisted the case on Sabarimala are those who have no idea about our traditions, meaning of shuddhi, and are even inimical to Hindus. Even the Kerala Police has acted in haste and has attacked the devotees. One of the IPS officer’s had even desecrated the Irumudi.
Ayyappa’s story is about the synthesis of Yoga and Moksha. In Puranas his story starts with ax Manthana and his birth for a reason to vanquish a demon. The life of Ayyappa and tradition of Sabrimala is the belief of his devotees. Hence Ayyappa should be visited if you are a believer and it is not a place for someone’s activism.
As per the Puranas, when Ayyappa went for Sadhana deep inside forest, people wanted to go along with him. But Ayyappa laid some conditions and regulations for those who wished to visit him. Restrictions on days and who can see him were laid down. Brahmacharya Vrata, vow of celibacy, was paramount. This is what a devotee is expected to adhere to before visiting Ayyappa and this belief system has existed for centuries.
The case of Nataraja temple in England where it was judged that the rights of the Temple diety is paramount is a case in point. Similarly, Faizabad court had ruled that the Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya belongs to Ram Lalla. But the SC judgment over Sabrimala has attempted to nullify this. This is not just the judgement over Sabrimala but will affect every other Hindu temple which can be similarly targetted using the same judgement. Even local temples can be taken over which is dangerous.
Our traditions are diverse and not homogenous unlike Abrahamaic gods. Force fitting western standpoint on God and society on our cultural traditions is wrong and dangerous. Sabarimala Ayyappa tradition is one which brings everyone irrespective of caste, creed, profession or income. Such harmony was brought about informally through the traditional practices of thousands of years. But today Pinarayi Vijaya’s government is out to destroy this natural harmony of the holy site.
The philosophical importance of Sabarimala and the reason the pilgrimage is taken is also important. A devotee seeks Moksha by visiting Swami Ayyappa. Sabarimala tradition is as per Kerala Agama tradition which has to be followed by those who manage the temple.
Sabrimala is visited by more than 5 crore people from many southern Indian states. It’s a informal centre for Hindu consolidation which is a thorn for anti-Hindu forces for many decades now. Those who wanted to Evangelize the entire state had attacked the temple way back in 1950. But even today the police investigation report which had exposed those who had attacked had not been tabled in Parliament or made public even today. Later in 1980’s a cross of St Thomas was planted in Nilakkal to usurp a hill close to Sabarimala. Due to strong protests by Hindus the cross was moved away from the 18 hills.
Today same Evangelical forces led by KP Yohanan group are out to attack Sabrimala again. They have brought huge tracts of lands worth Rs. 2000 crores to covert the entire area to a tourist centre and destroy the sanctity of the entire area. Pinarayi Vijayan’s government is hell bent to aid them in their project. A immoral woman activist, Rehana Fatima, was given police protection to visit Sabrimala breaking all traditions. But common people started questioning the government and the High Court too slammed the govt for mishandling the situation. Despite this section 144 has been imposed in Sabrimala and the devotees are being harrased and even arrested.
In the Mahendran vs State of Kerala case, the High Court had judged that the traditions of Sabrimala are paramount and disallowed any women of particular age in violation of the traditions. But the SC has neglected all such judgements and passed the present case disrespecting the traditions. 49 review petitions have been filed and have not yet been heard but the Kerala government is hell bent on forcing the order on the devotees even before that.
As mentioned these attempts to destroy Sabarimala is not a standalone case as later they will come for other temples. Kollur, Padmanabhaswami temple, and other temples and their traditions will be targeted. As justice Indu Malhotra ruled, this was not their domain to rule. Any tradition or rules which are not harming anyone should be left alone for the devotees to decide. Reformation if needed has to be taken up by the devotees and not the courts.
Its high time we all speak loudly about the Sabarimala issue and not remain as mute spectators as our traditions might be targeted next. We have no other choice than to be part of the agitation.”
A question and answer session with Shri Nanadakumar followed the speech. Shri Nirmal Surana delivered the vote of thanks. He also appraised the audience about participating in the activities of the Sabarimala Ayyappa Samrakshana Samiti. Nanadakumar ji requested the devotees to support the cause monetarily too to moot the legal expenses of the activists fighting for the cause. The event ended with chanting of the shanti mantra.
The entire proceedings was conducted by Shri Binu Padmam.

Statement of Sahsarkaryavah Ma. Dattatreya Hosabale on Ram Mandir

We feel that the statement by Prime Minister is a positive step in the direction of Temple Construction . The Prime Minister reiterating the resolve to construct a grand Sri Ram Temple in Ayodhya in his interview is in tune with the resolution passed by BJP at Palampur in 1989. In this resolution the BJP had stated that they would try to construct the grand Sri Ram Temple at Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya through mutual dialogue between the two communities or by enabling required legislation.
Even in the 2014 Election Manifesto prepared under the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi, the BJP promised to explore all possibilities within the framework of the Constitution to facilitate the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The people of Bharat have reposed complete confidence and gave BJP the full mandate. The people of Bharat expect this government to fulfil the same promise during this tenure.

Organiser’ weekly arranged a panel discussion on the topic of ‘Save Temple Traditions’ in Bengaluru’s K L E Society Auditorium on January 5

Sri T R Ramesh, Smt Gayathri, Smt Vijayalakshmi, Kamalananda Bharati Swamiji, Sri Prafulla Ketkar

There has been a focused effort to wipe out traditional Hindu practices by many forces in the nation and temples have been made target time and again. The Hindu temples were not mere places of worship and stood as a place of peace, harmony, imbuing art, music and culture. The panel discussion arranged by ‘Organiser’ was to debate those with the help of elite people who were working on the ground to revive traditions and also fight against external forces who would otherwise destroy the ethos of Sanathana Dharma. Saving of temples was not mere from sematic forces but also those who never understood Sanathana Dharma and the vivid learnings it has imparted through scriptures. The Governments, courts, lawmakers have been party in making fun of Sanathana Dharma.
The panel discussion started with the Editor in Chief of Organiser Sri Prafulla Ketkar who delivered the key note address to introduce how the panel discussion would shape into and what should be the outcome at the end of such a comprehensive discussion.
Prafulla Ketkar, Editor-in-Chief in his keynote spoke how Organiser has been bold speaking on nationalistic issues be it rehabilitation of Hindu refugees from Pakistan in 1947 or against Article 370 in J&K or Emergency in 1975, Ramjanmabhi movement, Swadeshi movement and broadly to reassert Dharmik values of Bharat on the edifice of Sanathana Dharma. He said how seeing Bharat through wrong spectacles has harmed the understanding of Bharatiya heritage. He opined that the idea of Bharat is not “Unity in Diversity” but is understanding the unique Bharatiya culture that celebrates the diversity. While Bharat has rendered the gift of ‘divinity in all beings’ to the world, it has to now been made to listen to the West on the discourse of gender equality albeit the latter been trying to practise humanity for last 300 years. The alleged intellectuals and learned people like us have had the issue of understanding Bharat while it is crystal clear in those people who we have labeled as uneducated, illiterate masses with regards to culture, heritage and Bharatiya values.’

Sri Prafulla Ketkar, Editor Organiser

Smt Gayathri Narendra, expert in Ramayana discourse and an active member of WEBOLIM, an organizationwhich facilitates people to experience the treasured esoteric values of Vedas and Ramayana and inculcate them in their everyday life by ways of workshops, classes, camps, explained how at WEBOLIM they have been able to reduce cultural distortions which is at large in schools these days. Teaching Samskrita and Vedas enabling and empowering people to study the texts and scriptures from Maharshis directly instead of relying on the translated versions would be the best way she argued. She said that temples played an important role individual enhancement, society and national integrity.
Sri T R Ramesh Hon President of Chennai’s Temple Worshipers Society which works tirelessly to retrieve, restore, rejuvenate our sacred temples, practices, rituals, culture and architecture lamented on the Supreme Court judgement on the Sabarimala Ayyappa case where the top judicial body had not understood that traditions have not harmed anyone was there a need to destroy the ancient traditions. Saving of our temples like Puri Jagannatha on the controversy of Chulha rice is as important as building a Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. Atheists, marauding missionaries, are not the only ones who are deteriorating the temple cultures but also the faulty judgments of High Court and Supreme Court have added to the woes and the way of reading everything through Abrahamic glasses will trouble Hindus more he said. He said that awareness, legal initiatives and agitation are the three things which the society should practice to save Hindu temples from the siege.

Sri T R Ramesh, Kamalananda Bharati Swamiji

Smt Vijayalakshmi Vijayakumar, pioneer in thematic films and is part of a Heritage Trust a Non-profitable trust which concentrates on promotion and dissemination of culture and heritage of Bharat said Hindus do not believe in one God and we are panentheists which elucidates to Eshwara is in everything, Everything is Eshwara, and there is only Eshwara. She urged that the revival and fight to save our temples would be through a thorough and active participation.
Kamalananda Bharati Swamiji founder Hindu Devalaya Parirakshana Samiti dedicated to rejuvenate (jeernoddhara) Hindu temples and also one who is working in the states of Andhra and Telangana through his work has been successful in keeping the Christian Missionaries and conversions at bay. Addressing the gathering he said ‘Swamiji you move forward in your endeavor and we will join hands with you should be the commitment to save temples and not to just applaud when some work is accomplished.’ The temples are not places of bhakti and mukti alone but also place of bhukti. The shops around temples generate so much revenue which is unexpected at other religion’s place of worship the revered one said.
Our temples are not built with just walls and doors but it is so vast and extended which has the garbhagriha, natyagriha, mukhamantapa, parivaramandir, gopura, shikara, Kalyani, dwajastambha etc and there is a significance for each and every architectural wonder he said.
Speaking about laws been made he recollected how the former CM of Andhra Pradesh YSR Reddy had eyed on hundreds of acres of temple land and how the Swamiji along with his team approached the court and stayed the order which YSR Reddy had passed.
Pained by the Sabarimala judgement he said the lamps in the Hindu houses are lit by women. It is women who help in the naivedya and prasada preparation to the priests of temples. It is the same women who ask their husbands to take the brahmacharya deeksha and visit Ayyappa temple and to top it all any village has would have the concept of gramadevatha a lady Godess who is believed to be protecting the village and she gets the first offering even before the chief diety. With all such practices it should be a laughable thing had someone speak about gender inequality in Bharat.
He concluded by opining that all stake holders who are concerned about Hindu issues including Swamijis, Mathadipathis should come together shunning differences and take up issues of temples, GoSeva, and anything similar and complete the task in a timebound fashion. He recollected how his Rathayatra of 2012 was on Sampurna Grama devalaya sandarshana rathayatra concentrated on visiting every village and every Hindu house. Swamiji has so far visited 8000 villages and intends to visit all six lakh villages in the country and says if such visits are not made it will only ease the job of the missionaries to play their card of conversions.
In the closing remarks, Sri Prafulla Ketkar said Organiser was doing the job of connecting the dots and enabling people to work together for the cause of saving temples. He reminded the attendees that assumption of saving temples is a job of the government and common people assuming that their role is zilch is itself against the thought what Sanatana Dharma has given us.
He said though we as Hindus call Ram as Maryada Purshottam new narrative that he is anti SC as he killed Shambhuka, anti ST as he killed Vali, anti-women as he sent Sita to forest, anti Brahmin as he killed Ravana and may be many more to come. So in the battle of such narratives been set we need to understand our enemies clearly and fight them and as Hindu Dharma has always said it is Dharma which prevails but the support system and a unified voice would make we win the battle earlier.
Members from Rasadhwani Kalakendra, a cultural organisation in the city recited hymns from Vedas before the start of the event. Smt Roopa Srikanth and daughter rendered the invocation song. Sri Prashanth Vaidyaraj welcomed and introduced the panelists to the audience. Smt Anupama Harish compered the event and Sri Radhakrishna Holla delivered the vote of thanks.

The hearing of Ram Janmabhoomi Appeals has been adjourned – yet once again, Sri Alok Kumar’s statement

The hearing of Ram Janmabhoomi Appeals has been adjourned – yet once again.

Our apprehensions that the opposite party shall raise any frivolous issues to secure an adjournment have come true.

The objection that a judicial order should have been passed for the constitution of a five judge bench is apparently frivolous; for it is settled that the Hon’ble Chief Justice is the master of roster. He alone decides the strength of a bench and the judges to sit in it.

The other objection on Justice UU Lalit being on the bench is painful. Justice Lalit has never appeared in the Ram Janmabhoomimatters; neither at the trial stage nor in the appeal. His being Counsel of Shri Kalyan Singh in 1997 in the contempt matter casts no shadow on his hearing the present appeals. The objections were merely ploys to delay further.

Under the circumstances, an adjournment from 10 January to 29 January is rather long. Hindus are known for their patience and forbearance. The judicial system still has the responsibility of deciding the matters without undue delays. The country hopes that the Hon’ble Chief Justice, heading the present Bench shall decisively act to prevent the delaying tactics of the opposite party.

We have seen the objections by two members of Muslim Personal Law Board about the absence of any Muslim Judge on the bench is disturbing. It would be a very sad day when the judges would be assigned to hear matters on the basis of their religion. In this case, the bench had been constituted with rational criteria i.e. the Judges who would become Chief Justice of Supreme Court during their tenure. The attempt of forum shopping is to be condemned.
